I absolutely loved this fall cabin elopement upstate. Kendra and Dylan didn’t want a big wedding, they just wanted to celebrate with their very favorite people, and be able to enjoy a full, happy, relaxing weekend together. They planned everything with intention, and things fell into place like they were meant to be. She found the most beautiful dress, a cabin on Vrbo, found catering, hair and makeup and photography were the only vendors there. Her sister did everybody’s nails, and I took photos. Then some mums and a view, and they were all set. I honestly had the best time, days like this almost don’t feel like work (until you get in the car and feel it on the drive back).
I will photograph big weddings, and they make perfect sense to some couples, but personally there’s nothing I love more than witnessing and photographing small gatherings. In eloepements, micro-weddings, intimate weddings, whatever you want to call them (I call them cozy gatherings), the mood is just different. Absolutely everybody attending is present and happy for the couple, and you just feel it. I always leave with my heart full and feeling like I became a guest.
