I loved this day. This Cape May venue is so unique. MaryKathryn and her family have been visiting Cape May for years, and it’s a very special place for her, and now for him, so that’s where they wanted to get married. They were looking for a venue, but the historic venues in town were not the their vibe. MK told me as soon as she saw the Overlook at Stowaways she knew she’d found the place. They had the reception up in The Overlook and the ceremony down on the ferry station. It made for a very unique setting and it was all and all an amazing day.
The girls had a huge room filled with natural light to get ready, they each did their own hair and makeup, with a little help from one another. Then they got dressed and MK’s dress looked like it was designed for her.
From there we went behind the Overlook building for their first look, portraits with the whole wedding party, serious and unserious, and then we headed for the ceremony.
They chose to have it in the big room where you enter the Ferry station. The unique set up was a fun challenge to document. Immediate family and the wedding party were on the bottom level with the couple, while the rest of the guests watched from the top. It was a fun and heartfelt ceremony, and I loved the little moment MK and T shared after.
Finally, it was time for cocktail hour and the reception at the Overlook. The outside is such a pleasant place for cocktail hour, the view, the breeze, you could tell everybody was having a great time. Then we stepped inside for the reception. On each place setting was a Cape May beach tag that made the perfect favor for the guests, and some film cameras for fun. There were beautiful toasts, happy dances and lots of fun. It was a beautiful group of people, thanks for letting us hang out with you.
