This was the absolute cutest wedding day in Cape May. I first heard from Shelby not long before their planned wedding day, and I was immediately excited after talking about what they were looking for. We couldn’t be happier that we got to be there. As many people did this year, Shelby and Jason changed their plans, but I don’t think there could have been a happier or prettier plan B. They got married in a sunny day, with a small group of the people closest to them, flowers from Shelby’s mother’s garden and joy to spare.
We met them at The Periwinkle Inn, where they got ready. I don’t know if it happened on purpose, but the hotel matched their colors, and my photographer heart was happy. From there we walked to the Peter Shields, took some formal portraits and then they had the sweetest ceremony in the front lawn. It was officiated by a close friend, and it was absolutely heartfelt and lovely. After that they hung out on the front porch for cocktail hour with a view, followed by a small reception inside. Shelby’s dad told me he couldn’t have asked for a better father’s day gift. I think everybody would agree.
