Melissa + Kyle | Lititz Springs Inn Wedding

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start this wedding year. I already knew Melissa and Kyle were funny and unbelievably nice, and after their wedding I can say that everybody they know agree they are two generous and great human beings. There was so much joy and laughter. It was an honor and a blast to be a little part of it, so before I go on, I want to thank you both again for everything!

This pretty wedding took place in Lititz, at the Lititz Springs Inn and Spa (at the time known as The General Sutter Inn). I had been at the Bull’s Head Pub last fall for portraits on Adrian and Ryan’s wedding but the rest of the place was even better than I expected.

When we got there we went up to the penthouse, where the getting-ready fun was happening. The guys were hanging out on the deck looking dapper already.

While on the opposite side, the ladies were getting ready in a room with the dreamiest light. Melissa had a great bunch of people with her, which was very convenient because it took a group effort to button up the dress. It was worth it though, because she looked absolutely beautiful.

After Melissa was ready, we headed outside for the first look. I found a spot where there was enough shade and in theory enough privacy. Their first look was one of those moments that make me love what I do. Kyle and Melissa started smiling as soon as she walked out the door. It was pure happiness, both outside and inside, where their friends and family might have been spying a little.

After weeks of not so nice weather, the sky was blue, flowers were blooming and it was a perfect day for an outside ceremony. The officiant was their good friend Bliss Jefferson, who did a very nice job. He made it personal and funny, short and sweet.

After all the family formal pictures, we took a little time for portraits of just the two of them on the patio.

Then came the reception. Kyle told me they had recently redone this area of the General Sutter. I don’t know how it looked like before, but it looks great now. I love reception spaces with lots of windows. It looked elegant and pretty, with just the right amount of light. Matching the bouquets and buttoniers, there where two kinds of flower center pieces that complemented eachother and photos of the pup on the sweetheart table.

Right before sunset we walked outside for a few more photos and ran into the cutest pit bull puppy. Her human Joe graciously brought her from across the street, and let her kiss all of us and make a special appearance on their gallery.

We went back inside straight for the cake cutting. The super cute cake and cupcakes were made by their friend Allie Stambaugh, and displayed in this great setup.

Like I said Melissa and Kyle are too nice, so before their first dance they had a special cupcake for their friend who’s birthday was that day. And right after their dance, it was their turn for a surprise when the DJ read a few words of thank you on behalf of their friends and families.

And then the celebration went on. Mae, my favorite DJ to date, was so nice and helpful, and kept everybody dancing and having fun until my last minute there. Plus she even did some dancing herself (and if you know her you might be able to spot her in one of the small pictures below).

I close with this photo taken by Brittany Truscott (same as the first photo). – Thank you so much for working with me on this wedding! You did a great job anticipating and figuring out how to help, while always having the best attitude. I can’t wait for your wedding this Fall!
