Lighthouse sunset engagement session — Cape May, NJ Photographers

This was the second perfect sunset we got to enjoy with Christina & Grant. The first one, was when Grant proposed to Christina the year before. It was so nice to see them again, and meet the puppy Christina thought she was being surprised with the previews time (I vividly remember her saying “I thought we were getting a puppy” after he proposed). The surprise awaiting for her at the beach that day wasn’t a puppy, but later on they got one.

This time we met in town and walked a little bit before heading to the lighthouse. I have so many favorite photos from this day, I decided to just post the ones from the beach to keep it from getting even longer. It was impossible to narrow it down. When we got to the beach, they started by opening a bottle of bubbly for a toast. Then we took photos with their cute pup Maui, and just had fun on the beach. Normally people have this level of comfort with us after their engagement. They are just used to us by the time the wedding arrives. This time we got that feeling and trust from the beginning of the session after photographing them the previous fall. Believe me, you get the best photos when you trust your photographer. We laughed, we talked, we ran (mostly they ran), a couple of waves caught them off guard, we laughed some more, and I loved it all. I should say, this would not have been as easy without Christina’s sister, who helped us with Maui when she wasn’t in the photos (which made her very upset, she didn’t understand why we would keep her away from them. It was actually adorable).

It means a lot to me that we’ve gotten to document each step towards the wedding for them, and I could not be more excited to see them again this fall, this time for their biggest day yet.
