This is one of my favorite engagement sessions ever, because Amanda and Matt are the best, and because we love Cape May.
We had a Saturday wedding in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania scheduled for that weekend, then I added a session on Friday in White Marsh Maryland and just a week before, Amanda reached out about an engagement session on Sunday. We had just come back from a wedding in Cape May, and Amanda happened to run into a photo from that wedding on Instagram. It sounded like a lot of driving, but Amanda I liked Amanda even through her emails, so we set it up and met her and Matt that Sunday morning.
We started the session walking by the colorful houses, getting to know them as we went. After that we headed to the beach. We talked about how they were there with family to celebrate the engagement, and how the plans just fell into place and it all just felt meant to be. And just when we were wrapping up we got to see a dolphin! It even made it to the gallery.
Scott and I talked about how awesome it would be to photograph their wedding, while eating our customary lobster rolls at Quincy’s before returning to York, PA.
A year later, we got back on the road. This time, we traveled to Long Island to photograph their wedding at the beautiful Brecknock Hall in Greenport. We made a little vacation out of it. We stayed in a cute AirBnB in Hampton Bays, explored the Southampton and North Fork area, even stopped in Brooklyn on the way back, and we were right, the wedding was a blast and the long weekend was awesome.
Can’t wait to go back.
