I love how different each session and wedding we have photographed in Long Island has been. Scroll down if you are looking for a little inspiration on wedding and engagement session locations, and read along if you want to know a little bit more about each set of photos
I’ll start with my new favorite venue, Aurora in Brooklyn. We photograph everything from elopements to big weddings, but the cozier ones with a smaller group of people have my heart. It’s just a different feel when everybody attending is genuinely happy and invested in being there, and Aurora is the perfect setting if you are looking for that feel on your wedding day. I stopped there to eat once, and I saw the photos of their weddings while I waited for the food, and then Hannah reached out to see if we were available for their wedding soon after. If I’ve manifested something, this is it. The photos here are mix of 35mm and digitals, and you can see a lot more photos of this day here.
Then this perfect Montauk day. I met Marcella on our first Long Island wedding (keep scrolling to see it). I was the photographer, she was the hair stylist. She was great, the hair was flawless, and when I shared the photos with her she said she’d be in touch one day when she got engaged. I didn’t believe it would happen, but she did! We talked to her and Vinny over FaceTime, and soon after we met on her favorite place, Montauk, for a three part session. They are the cutest, best humans. We met at Harvest on Fort Pond, then we headed to the lighthouse and ended the session at Sunset Beach. We took photos until there was no light, because we were all having fun. I loved this day.
Only makes sense to jump to their wedding. It was elegant, and so fun, and like with their engagement, we stopped on a few different locations. They got ready at home, got married at St. Patrick’s Church in Glen Cove, made a stop at Planting Fields Arboretum for photos and video (gorgeous!), and partied the night away at Watermill Caterers in Smithtown, with 4th of July fireworks to end the night. –This way for the full wedding Blog post.
Back on the ocean side, we had our last engagement session of 2024 in Long Beach. It was a relaxed fun session, with an adorable pup. Just look at her face! -If you make it there, stop at Dough Hut for a snack.
Back to Brooklyn one more time for another relaxed engagement session, This is the one where we started shooting film for clients (before it was for personal use, lots of it where just the pups looking cute), and also got to meet their sweet dog at the end. -There’s a mix of film and digitals.
Finally, I have to share the first wedding we ever photographed in Long Island. It was 4 years ago at Brecknock Hall. We met Amanda and Matt when we photographed their engagement session in Cape May, and they decided to take us with them to Greenport for their wedding. We made it into a little trip, staying in Hampton Bays and driving through Westhampton Island, South Hampton and Mattituck on the other side, where we stopped to eat at A Mano. But we also had to work, and even though it was a long day for us, it was a super fun wedding. It makes a difference to work with amazing people, starting with Amanda and Matt, their family and friends, but also the team, that’s where we got to meet Marcella! –Check her out Styles by Marcella.
